The sample looked right. Is the order ready?

Turn a promising protein sample into a clear buying brief: specification, pack, volume, payment timing and fulfillment for a TradeCafe purchase.

SIAL Paris runs October 17–21, 2026. A product conversation there can start with a sample and end with a strong reason to buy. The next step is making sure the order matches the opportunity.

A sample answers one question: does this product look like a fit? It does not, by itself, establish the commercial volume, current availability, payment obligations or delivery arrangement. Those details deserve the same attention as the product.

Write down what was actually agreed

Start with the product and the intended customer. Record the specification under discussion, the pack, the required quantity and the destination. Separate a confirmed detail from an assumption or an open question. If two people leave the conversation with different versions of the requirement, the follow-up is already harder than it needs to be.

For example, a distributor may like a sample but still need a different case configuration for its customers. That is an illustrative buying problem, not a minor administrative detail. Confirm the commercial pack rather than assuming the sample represents everything that will be supplied.

Check the offer at order scale

Ask whether the proposed product is available in the quantity and timing the business needs. Identify any condition that still has to be satisfied before commitment. Keep an alternative offer separate until its specification, origin, pack and other relevant requirements have been reviewed.

For an international purchase, the responsible specialists also need to confirm the product-specific documentation and eligibility requirements. A promising conversation is not evidence that every route, product or destination is cleared.

Put payment and fulfillment in the same conversation

The next discussion should include the agreed payment dates and the delivery requirement. When does the buyer have to act? Which dates are estimates? What information is still needed before the receiving plan can be confirmed? A change in one part of the order does not automatically change every other commitment.

Eligible buyers can discuss financing for purchases made through TradeCafe. Terms and suitability need to be established for the actual purchase. The useful moment to raise those questions is while evaluating the order, not after assuming a payment structure that has not been agreed.

Make the next call specific

You do not need a polished presentation. A short brief can name the product, pack, volume, final destination, useful arrival timing and the decisions still open. A phone call works well when everyone is working from the same requirement.

TradeCafe brings sourcing, financing and fulfillment into a connected operating relationship for purchases made through TradeCafe. The aim is not simply to find an interesting product. It is to understand how that purchase will fit the business that has to receive, fund and sell it.

Bring your shortlist and your unresolved questions to your TradeCafe contact. Leave the next conversation knowing what is confirmed, what is conditional and who needs to answer next.
