A pre-holiday review for buying, finance and fulfillment—not just the sailing schedule.
A holiday does not pause an order’s obligations. It changes who is available to answer a question, approve a revision or release the next step. For a protein business trading with China, the useful preparation is a whole-order review—not simply a check that the vessel is still sailing.
China’s 2026 National Day holiday runs October 1–7. Those dates are a planning prompt, not evidence that every office, carrier or port closes. Confirm each partner’s operating arrangements directly. Shenzhen Dapeng New District Government.
Close the decisions that cannot wait
Start with the commercial agreement. Is the product specification settled? Are quantity, pack, price and shipment window understood in the same way by both sides? Separate an agreed term from a proposal still waiting for acceptance. A familiar supplier relationship does not make an unanswered question disappear.
Next, identify any decision likely to fall during the holiday. Name the person authorized to make it, the information they will need and a backup contact. A phone number without decision-making responsibility is not a complete escalation plan.
Put documents and payment timing beside the cargo
Check which documents are complete, which remain outstanding and who owns each next action. Ask whether the people who prepare, check or receive them will be available. Do not treat a planned sending date as proof that the receiving party has accepted the document.
Finance should review the payment obligations and actual processing arrangements with the relevant parties. The question is practical: does the timing still support the agreed order? Avoid assuming that one organization’s holiday arrangements describe the availability of every bank or counterparty.
Confirm the receiving side too
An origin plan can be ready while the destination plan is incomplete. Reconfirm the receiver, appointment process and expected delivery window. If a shipment date changes, identify who will revise the downstream arrangements and tell the customer what that means.
Keep the review short enough to use. One order, one current agreement and one list of open actions is more useful than a long holiday email with no owners. Record the next check-in and the event that would trigger an earlier call.
Use the relationship to run the order
For purchases made through TradeCafe, purchasing, financing and fulfillment belong in the same conversation. The value of that relationship does not end when the product is selected. It continues in the everyday work of making the order usable for the people buying, paying for and receiving it.
Before the break, bring your TradeCafe contact the unresolved decisions on your active orders. Afterward, reconfirm what changed. Good preparation gives the next conversation a clear purpose.
